CompositesWorld  has announced that the latest installment in its annual  Tech Days online event series  will be focused on the bonding and welding of composites materials. The event is scheduled to take place in early April 2025.

CW ’s Tech Days are designed to offer informational presentations from industry experts spanning the entire composites supply chain.  CW  Tech Days: Bonding and Welding offers an in-depth exploration of the latest technologies and best practices for working with composite materials, including carbon fiber. This online event is designed for engineers, designers, manufacturers and industry professionals who specialize in or are interested in the development and assembly of high-performance composite parts.

Bonding and welding are essential processes in the assembly and manufacturing of composite materials, providing reliable methods for joining components. Bonding uses adhesives or bonding agents to create robust connections between composite parts or between composites and other materials. These adhesives help distribute stress evenly, resulting in lightweight, durable structures. Conversely, welding methods such as ultrasonic and induction welding are specifically used for thermoplastic composites. These techniques involve applying heat to melt and fuse the materials, forming strong joints.
