Three Turkish-based companies — Basaran Technology (Istanbul), Otostech (Çay?rova/Kocael) and Omniform Innovative Technologies (Çay?rova/Kocael) — have set up a new business venture for large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM) through the LFAM Center, a facility based in Cayirova Gebze, 20 kilometers from Istanbul.

The facility will initially have three LFAM robots systems all supplied by Caracol (Milan, Italy). This technology uses all types of polymer compounds (granules) including recycled PET, as well as prime PC, PP and ABS, with glass or carbon fiber reinforcement. The aim is to gather each contributing company’s capabilities and resources under one roof to service the defense, marine and architectural industries with model, plug, mold and final product production.

As a founding partner of the LFAM Center, Basaran Technology leverages more than 20 years of experience in additive manufacturing (AM) to deliver industrial-scale solutions. The company provides advanced manufacturing and consulting services across multi jet fusion (MJF), Caracol LFAM, fused deposition modeling (FDM), stereolithography (SLA), vacuum casting, additive casting and metal sintering, supporting customers from design to production phases. As a distributor of HP 3D printing systems, Caracol and Impact Innovations industrial 3D printing systems, and AM materials, Basaran Technology enables scalable, high-performance applications for defense, aerospace, automotive, consumer goods and industrial markets.

Founding partner Otostech is an integrated engineering and manufacturing center delivering end-to-end composite solutions for the marine, aerospace and automotive industries. It produces models, molds, and composite parts under one roof, using five-axis CNC technology up to 26 × 6 meters, resin transfer molding (RTM) and vacuum infusion. By manufacturing both molds and final parts in-house, the company ensures optimized designs, high precision and true end-to-end production.

 

Though Omniform is the newest member of the three LFAM Center members in the LFAM field, its 27 years of experience in the composite industry will contribute highly with many projects through its wide customer portfolio. Sister companies Plasto Plastic and Omnis Composite, involved in the distribution of composite raw materials, will also support Omniform’s growth in LFAM projects.
