To further promote the innovation and application of key technologies and new materials for Sino-European independent brand new energy vehicles, the IALTA (China) Automotive Lightweight Green Technology Innovation Award selection event, jointly initiated and organized by the China-Europe Automotive Materials Committee, the International Automotive Lightweight Green Technology Alliance, the European Automobile Suppliers Association, and the China-Europe New Energy Intelligent Automobile Industry Federation, was launched in China in 2014. Since its launch in Germany in 2014, it has gone through nine sessions and has now been upgraded to the "Oscar" innovation award in the Sino-European new energy vehicle technology and lightweight industry. It aims to assist in the development of key technologies for Sino-European new energy vehicles and the innovation and application of lightweight green materials, and recognize technology-innovative enterprises, scientists, and leading figures in independent innovation who have made outstanding contributions to promoting Sino-European new energy vehicle lightweight technological innovation, as well as innovative products that have attracted great attention from automotive OEMs and the industry.

In 2025, the China-Europe Association - Automobile Alliance will further strengthen the collaborative innovation and whole-industry-chain supporting cooperation among automotive carbon fiber and advanced composite material manufacturers, vehicle factories, and core components, accelerate the industrialization and application of new technologies, new processes, new products, and cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements of green carbon fiber and advanced composite materials. The 11th China-Europe New Energy Vehicle Lightweight and Advanced Composite Materials Innovation International Summit, and the 8th Joint Conference of the China-Europe Carbon Fiber and Advanced Composite Materials Association (CFICA), sponsored by the International Automotive Lightweight Green Technology Alliance (IALTA) and the China-Europe Carbon Fiber and Advanced Composite Materials Association (CFICA), were held in Hangzhou from December 11 to 12, 2025. At present, the carbon fiber and resin-based composite material industry has also been listed as a key strategic development area in China's "14th Five-Year Plan for New Materials". Carbon fiber and advanced composite materials will also become the strategic development trend of lightweight materials for new energy vehicles in the future. With the high penetration growth of the Sino-European new energy vehicle industry and the rapid iteration and upgrading of new energy vehicles, the application and development of new lightweight product lines have been spawned, and the mass production application and development of carbon fiber and advanced composite material structural components for new energy vehicles will usher in broad market development prospects.
