The European Innovation Council has awarded €6.25 million in funding to start-up Lios to help it develop its SoundBounce product. SoundBounce is an advanced acoustic metamaterial that attenuates low-frequency noise and vibrations thanks to its composite structure. It can be used in the aerospace, automotive, construction and power generation sectors. According to Lios, SoundBounce reduces noise and vibration more effectively than other solutions, while remaining economical, thin and non-toxic.

This funding is a major milestone for Lios. It will enable the company to launch pilot production to meet growing demand from partners and customers, expand their team with new talent across production, R&D, engineering and commercial roles and “accelerate [their] journey toward making quieter, safer and more sustainable products and environments worldwide.”

only 40 companies were selected in this highly competitive EIC Accelerator round and Lios says it is incredibly proud to be recognised as one of Europe’s most promising deep-tech ventures tackling global challenges.
